Huntly Development Trust AGM

The Minutes of the first HDT AGM held in Huntly in June

I realise that it is a while since you may have heard from us here at Huntly Development Trust (HDT) so please find attached the (draft) minutes of our Annual General Meeting held on 22nd June - click here. I hope the Minutes (which will have to be confirmed by next year's AGM), together with the Annual Review (see the link on the Home Page Spotlight) give you a good idea of what HDT has been up to over the first year of our existence. Please accept our apologies for the delay in getting the documents to you but since they were produced we have been very busy. For example, we:

·      brought the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCO) to Huntly in July
·      supported Huntly and District Tourism Action Group in organising the August ceilidhs at the Stewart's Hall
·      assisted in organising and promoting the Huntly Hairst Food and Farming Festival, and
·      produced the Bogie Bugle events flyer fortnightly over the summer.

Behind the scenes there has been an awful lot more going on but by definition we realise that that is not very visible!

Looking ahead, over the next few months we will be completing our project plan for which we secured support from Aberdeenshire Council, LEADER, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Forestry Commission. This includes a range of initiatives to improve walking, cycling, retail and signage in and around Huntly. In addition, we will be taking forward our studies into potential development of community renewable energy assets. Finally, we are examining the potential for development of a European cooperation project with the community of Juankoski in Finland. Busy times and you'll be able to follow progress in the Huntly Express and

Please feel free to get in touch with us at any time: 01466 799416,

Thank you for your support.
