Huntly skiers ready for Olympic action

Huntly’s young Winter Olympic hopefuls have arrived in Vancouver and are ready to take part in their biggest challenge to date.

Andrew Young, Andrew Musgrave and PJ Barron, all from Huntly will take to the snow early next week in the mens 15km free race. The two Andrews are racing for Team GB whilst PJ represents Ireland. All learned and developed their skills and fitness at the Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre.

Head Coach Roy Young, also from Huntly, described the Olympic Village to the Huntly Express: “Each country has its own little area with loads of flags so we have lots of BOA lions whereas the Aussies have lots of kangaroos.”

The Huntly skiers are some of the first in action during the Winter Olympics which start today (12th February) and end on 28th February. The 15km free race is held on Monday 15th February.
