Confidence to Cook Training

Three training courses in food hygiene and nutrition are planned for people working with groups.

Huntly Food & Health Group are delighted to announce that the community training kitchen within the Linden Centre is now open.  This is a community facility which aims to promote and raise awareness of Healthy Eating messages through practical hands-on cookery sessions.

The main objective is to have fun through practical cookery in a safe and supportive environment, gaining an understanding of the importance and benefits of a healthy balanced diet, promoting independence, building confidence and developing new skills.

The kitchen hosts a fully equipped purpose built kitchen facility with disabled access which includes a fully adjustable work station accessible for wheel chair users.  The kitchen can accommodate a maximum of eight people for practical sessions with a seating area to encourage groups to sit and enjoy the food they have prepared and maximise the social aspect of the training experience.

The facility is accessible to all members of the community from young parents, schools, youth groups, community groups, older people, socially isolated individuals etc.

People working with groups are invited to come along for training in food and health to become equipped to deliver sessions to their client groups. 

A Training for Trainers course is scheduled for Monday 30th Nov & 7th Dec 10am-3pm. 

REHIS training in Food Hygiene will be available in the New Year, the 1st course is fully booked.

REHIS training in Nutrition is available on Wednesday 11th Nov 9.30-4.30.

All three courses are being delivered in the community training kitchen with the  Linden Cenre.
