What next for Huntly? programme launched

The programme for the public meeting on Wednesday 28th May to discuss options for a community body to take on the work of ATP Huntly has been confirmed.

At the meeting Huntly will be able to hear first hand from two speakers with 'warts-and-all' experience of community-led organisations working for wider town benefit. Tom Black, Development Officer of the Development Trust Association Scotland and David Milburn, Executive Director of Amble Development Trust in Northumberland will explain how such organisations work elsewhere. The audience will then be able to grill the speakers and discuss if and how such an organisation could work for Huntly.

ATP Huntly co-ordinator Donald Boyd is enthusiastic about the programme: "It is a real coup for Huntly to attract someone of the calibre of David Milburn who is a recognised expert in this field. He has been with Amble Development Trust since it started. And Tom Black can give the wider view on what has worked, what hasn't and why elsewhere in Scotland. This is an important evening for Huntly as part of the whole 'What next after ATP?' consultation and I would encourage anyone interested in the future of Huntly and District to turnout for the event."
