Clashindarroch Community Fund

Developing the Vattenfall Clashindarroch Community Fund – what did people say about how the Fund could make a difference?

During construction of the Clashindarroch Wind Farm Vattenfall has also been working on setting up the Clashindarroch Community Fund that will open once the turbines start generating electricity next year.

The Fund, which will be £185,000 per year, will support community organisations and services that operate within the areas served by the Cabrach Community Association, Huntly Community Council, Strathbogie Community Council and Tap O Noth Community Council.

A Working Group involving representatives from each of these groups is working with Foundation Scotland to ensure the Fund is set up in a way that reflects the many different needs and opportunities across the communities. To help with this, Foundation Scotland has been finding out the kinds of activities and organisations that currently exist and what people would like to see developed in and across the Fund area. You may have been one of the 200+ people that contributed thoughts and ideas via a survey distributed in the spring or by attending one of three consultation events in March.

The summary report from that consultation process is available at

Foundation Scotland is inviting people to comment on the findings via the follow-up survey online by Sunday 23rd November.

Foundation Scotland is also inviting people to drop in at the following times to comment further on how the Fund should work to benefit the local communities:

Thursday 27th November - Stewart's Hall, Huntly - 12.00 - 16.00 & 18.00 - 20.00

Friday 28 November - 13 The Square, Rhynie - 10.00 - 13.30

If you have any questions or comments regarding the consultation process or the events please contact Foundation Scotland’s Emma Margrett on or call 07734 440 920.
