The project will provide an audio-visual forum through which individuals making up the extended community of Glass can express themselves, using the media of film and video. Entrants will have a free choice of content and format, and are invited to direct, shoot and edit their own short films, of between 1-10 minutes in length.
The Artistic Team will facilitate the film-making, and will provide training in the use of filming equipment and editing software. This will be complemented by a mentoring/buddying system to support the entrants with all aspects of their film-making as required.
Finished films will be screened at a celebratory event – ‘Glass Film Festival’ – along with a further short film, produced using fragments of all the other films, edited to create an expressive ‘snapshot’ or abstract narrative of Glass in 2014. A DVD will be produced, compiling all the films, together with a short accompanying printed publication.
