The Modern Languages Department will create leaflets about Huntly and its attractions. These leaflets will be done in French, German and Spanish and printed in colour. They will be made available to the tourist office, the castle, local hotels and the library, DA, HDT and Aberdeen Airport. The leaflets aim to promote Huntly for French, German and Spanish speaking tourists to the area.
At the start of next term pupils in S4 will be given a guided tour through Huntly by Patrick Scott. They will take photographs and learn about the local sites and attractions. The S4 pupils will then write texts in French, German and Spanish to accompany the photographs. All should be compiled into leaflets and printed, ready for distribution in early Spring 2014.
The £1,000 will be used to purchase dictionaries, both paper and app downloads, pay tour guide and proof reading in 3 languages and print leaflets.
