Our project is to develop the newly accessible learning outdoor space for Gartly School pupils. This will include a bird hide/creative den/play house and planters with plants to encourage birds and wildlife. The nursery pupils’ project in school is to map out the existing area. The pupils will be using their creativity and knowledge that they gain to think about the space and the type of things they would like and could do to make the area exciting for learning and will help them learn about the environment.
Through the process the project will inspire the pupils’ curiosity, to find out and investigate their own local natural world and to develop their language and communication skills. It will enable pupils to develop an appreciation of their natural environment and its conservation and preservation. We will be able to achieve this due to money from the Huntly Cultural fund of £500 and the funding from the Tap O’Noth Community Council of £450. We thank both groups for their support.
