With the grant received from the Huntly Cultural Fund the Aurora music group, based in Huntly, has managed to expand into the creation of a Youth Choir. This was established in September 2013.
The formation of a youth choir offers high quality, free, musical education and has allowed talents to be developed and confidences to grow. It encourages a lifelong love of music and offers another high quality musical group to Huntly which enhances Huntly’s status as a creative hub.
Two of our more experienced 16 year old choristers – Annie Lennox and Maggie Duffus – run the Aurora Youth Choir. In addition to the benefits to the children in the choir this role will give valuable experience in musical / artistic direction to Annie and Maggie (and their successors).
Aurora Youth Choir will be supported by Aurora Choir and Aurora Productions under the direction of Hugh Johnstone and Hannah McGinlay.
