Living Sculpture

Scottish Sculpture Workshop welcomes you to an evening of outdoor entertainment in the village of Lumsden. Working with artists, performers and musicians, the site-specific promanade performance along the Lumsden Sculpture Walk will explore the cultural heritage of the North East and the relationship we have to the surrounding landscape.

As part of the Year of Homecoming, the event will focus on a public celebration of our home – its landscape, produce and wealth of creative activity. This project also looks to help in reinvigorate the Lumsden Sculpture Walk, which was established in the village in 1985, with a number of activities leading up to the event including a clear-up day of the Sculpture Walk.

Living Sculpture is part of an ongoing enquiry into community and sustainability, and alongside the promanade event there will also be workshops exploring food, ecology, sustainability and the arts.
